Solid-state cadmium and lead ion-selective electrodes

The authors studied the characteristics of homogeneous, solid-phase, chalcogenide-based, Kvant electrodes responsive to Pb(II) and Cd(II). Their selectivity coefficients were determined with respect to Ni(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), Al(III), Pb(II), and Cd(II) and conditions chosen for determining lead and cadmium ions in their presence. Results were compared for the determination of lead(II) and cadmium(II) by different methods in industrial solutions and plating-plant waste waters.
