O envelhecimento representa a consequencia ou os efeitos da passagem do tempo no organismo (envelhecimento somatico) e psiquismo (envelhecimento psiquico). Apresenta-se revisao sobre envelhecimento abordando os aspectos biologicos do desenvolvimento humano ate a velhice, considerando as repercussoes funcionais do envelhecimento fisiologico e psicologico.(AU) Aging is the result or the effects of the passage of time on the body (somatic aging) and the psyche (mental aging).
