High-temperature silicon-transistor computer circuits

1956
Synopsis: This paper considers the application of silicon-alloy transistors to digital-computer circuits, such as flip-flops and gates, suitable for operation at high temperatures. Circuits using the T-1159 silicon surface-alloy transistor will perform at temperatures as high as 140 C (degrees centigrade) with switching times on the order of tenths of a microsecond (μsec). No particular precautions or compensating components are required in order to obtain such performance.
