Isospin mixing in 14N

1972
Abstract The 13 C(p, γ) 14 N. reaction has been used to study the γ-decay of the 1 − levels at 8.06 and 5.69 MeV in 14 N. Branching ratios of all the observed levels populated at the E p = 550 keV resonance and the lifetime of the 2.31 MeV level have been measured. Upper limits are set on the lifetimes of the levels at 5.69 and 8.06 MeV with the Doppler-shift attenuation method. The isospin mixing coefficient of the two 1 − states is obtained from the derived transition strengths and the lifetime of the 5.69 MeV level is estimated by an indirect method. The deduced El and Ml widths are compared with various shell-model predictions.
