Adattare i piani ai cambiamenti climatici:le esigenze dei quadri conoscitivi. Adapting plans to climate change: the evidence base requirements.

There is a widespread recognition that human activities are changing the global climate system and that every part of the globe will be affected by the impacts of climate changes. Responding to this change is a profound challenge. The growing need of adaptation must be considered through the integration or mainstreaming of climate considera on into strategic planning. The focus of this paper is to show how adaptation could be incorporated in the development and appraisal of policies, plan and programmes through the applica on of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). It provides a framework for assessing and managing a broad range of environmental risk which can contribute to the evaluation of climatic needs and lead to evidence-based plans and policies, more capable in terms of adaptation. The development of knowledge in terms of climate effects, vulnerability and sensitivity is the key to lead to be er informed decisions and tailor-made adaptation.
