Method for determining the thermodynamic incompatibility of polymers

Abstract A method is proposed for determining the thermodynamic incompatibility in polymerpolymeric systems based on observations of the breakdown of the liquid cylinder of one polymer in the medium of another by the wave mechanism of destabilization. The problem of the correlation of the times of mutual dissolution and breakdown into drops for thermodynamically compatible polymers is examined. The process of breakdown of a liquid cylinder for a number of polymer systems has been experimentally investigated.
