had completely receded; steroids were slowly tapered over the following 2 weeks (Figure 1, C). This case shows that even many years after LASIK surgery the loss of corneal epithelium can result in an interface inflammatory reaction and DLK. To our knowledge, DLK occurring as late as 8 years after LASIK has not been reported. In this case, a local factor of protracted exposure of the flap edge stroma may have been a contributing factor in the recruitment of inflammatory cells and the development of DLK.
