Novel synthesis of oxonine derivatives from 3-[(2-aminophenyl)amino]-5,5-dimethyl-2-cyclohexene-1-one and o-quinones

Abstract A new method for the synthesis of hitherto unreported 9-membered macrolactones by reaction of 3-[(2-aminophenyl)amino]-5,5-dimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one with o -quinones in the presence of acidic catalysts is presented.
