Fast photometric determination of iron impurity in red lead and litharge

1995
A method for fast photometric determination of iron impurity in red lead and litharge is suggested. The method is based on the use of reactions of complexation of iron(II) and 2,2′-dipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline after dissolution of a specimen in a mixture of acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide and reduction of iron(III) to iron(II) by ascorbic acid.
