Progress in Wireline Formation Test

Wireline Formation Test (WFT) can quickly evaluate oil, gas and water, as is very essential in oil exploration and development. The WFT tool has been widely used for estimation of reservoir characteristics such as fluid type, initial pressure, effective permeability and identification of reservoir barriers. So it is very important to study functions and applications of WFT. This paper reviews applications of information obtained by WFT, such as how to identify oil-water interfaces and evaluate permeability, mini-DST functions and interpretation methods of fluid sampling.
