La tecnologia del Gene Editing nella didattica esperienziale per studenti delle scuole secondarie di secondo grado

The modern technologies of Gene Editing, such as the CRISPR system, have allowed the spread of these technologies in all the laboratories of the world, at the same time fuelling hopes and fears for its applications. Since these technologies are destined to have a strong impact on society, it is very important to communicate and provoke reflection especially among the youngest. In order to bring secondary school students closer to major scientific topics and to let them experiment with new technologies and understand their potential, in recent years we have developed a Gene Editing course. The students' response to this type of course demonstrates the effectiveness of the experimentation in informing and sparking discussion on these issues. In this article we report and comment on the results of this study.
