SPECIAL LIBRARIES—SPECIAL PROBLEMS: Preservation of Art Library Materials

Library preservation-conservation is a relatively new field. While art librarians are receptive to preservation concepts, there is a scarcity of relevant literature pertaining specifically to art library materials. This article explores the dual nature of the problems of art materials, their intrinsic attractiveness to mutilators and their physical liabilities. Preventive maintenance is suggested, and bibliographic references for further information are cited.
