Further activation of g-C3N4 with less N-H defects for enhancing photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

2019
Abstract g-C 3 N 4 was further treated with N 2 -assisted pyrolysis, during which some gaseous derivatives were released from the surface of g-C 3 N 4 at 550 °C, producing novel carbon nitride (CNH) with the high surface area and less N-H defects. As a result, CNH shows 14 times higher photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity than the pristine g-C 3 N 4 . To some extent, this work provides deep understanding for the activation or reactivation of g-C 3 N 4 in the catalysis.
