Research on the relationship between microalbuminuria and carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
2009
Objective To explore the relationship between microalbuminuria and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods This study included 50 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who were divided into two groups according to intima-media thickness (IMT), thickening group and control group. TC, TG, FINS, β2-MG, IgG and MAU were measured in all subjects. Results TC, TG, INSU-LIN, β2-MG, IgG and microalbuminuria(MAU) had been significantly increased in the thickening group than control group. MAU was positively correlated with cartiod IMT in the patients with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion MAU and IMT may be two specific indicators of early atherosclerosis in patients with diabetes mellitus.
