Jamming to Support Privacy-preserving Continuous Tumour Relapse Monitoring Using In-body Radio Signals

2020
Early detection of cancer can significantly improve the quality of life for cancer patients. We have earlier shown that human adipose (fat) tissue can be used as a propagation channel for radio frequency communication within the human body. We can use this technology also for continuous monitoring of tumour growth in the channel. We have earlier addressed the privacy issues of this monitoring technology caused by the information leakage. In this work we augment this scheme by having the aggregator, the gateway between an intra-body sensor network and the outside world, jam during measurements to further enhance the scheme's privacy protection.
