Os Impactos da Governança Corporativa em uma Cooperativa de Crédito The Impact of Corporate Governance on a Credit Union

Corporate Governance is an innovative and relevant subject for the management of cooperatives of the credit sector – This sector is strategic because of its contribution to market access by a large number of organizations and the development of the national economy.The case study is a qualitative descriptive research that was developed based on the observation and analysis of the organization under study and through structured interviews. The objective of the research was to point out the impacts of Corporate Governance in the Free Admission Credit Cooperative from the Varginha Region Ltda – Sicoob Credivar. The main impacts identified were: improvement of the knowhow related to corporate management and the principles, rules and laws of the credit cooperatives; mitigation of conflicts of interest; granting of higher autonomy to the managers; insertion of compliance practices; better definition and segmentation of responsibilities and tasks; preparation of manuals of standardization of required competencies; transparency of information for the improvement of the decision making process; improvement of the accountability process; agility in the analysis and granting of credit; standardization of internal and external factors; provision of materials for training and self-regulation for risk management.
