Parathyroid Hormone and 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 Affect the Tissue Concentrations of Zinc in Uremic Rats
1985
The tissue concentration of zinc was studied in normal and uremic rats. Differences between the groups only reached significance when either parathyroid hormone or 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 were administered. Uremic rats having obtained these compounds showed a significantly higher concentration of zinc in their liver, whereas their serum content of zinc was decreased.
