Broadening of action spectrum in a patient with solar urticaria

Summary Solar urticaria is a rare disorder of unknown aetiology, characterized by immediate erythema and whealing on sun-exposed skin. This report describes a patient in whom increasing clinical photosensitivity was accompanied by a marked expansion of the action spectrum. The classification and treatment of solar urticaria is discussed.
