Development of hydrogen-hydride technology in the F.R.G.

Abstract A glance at the last 10 to 15 years of hydrogen and hydride systems development in the Federal Republic of Germany shows that this technology is growing rapidly in importance in many fields of application. While metal hydride development was initially geared to gas storage for mobile applications, today many more uses have been found for these alloys and the technology associated with them. Worthy of particular mention are the fields of gas purification, gas compression and also vacuum technology.
