Crowdsourced Data for Cultural Heritage
2017
Heritage experts and memory institutions have often sought ways to engage the wider public with their work. With engagement comes support, and support can ensure the future of our heritage beyond this current generation. However, traditional methods of engagement are increasingly challenging in our ever-connected, always-on twenty-first century digital world. Engaging the public through active participation offers the opportunity to connect the public with heritage, raise awareness, and more importantly, raise interest. At the same time, crowdsourcing activities can help the heritage domain by advancing their work beyond what they might otherwise be able to achieve with their available resources.
