BLAST EFFECTS ON EXISTING UPSHOT-KNOTHOLE AND TEAPOT STRUCTURES

1960
Structures remaining from 0peration Upshot-Knothole and Teapot were retested during Plumbbob in order to secure blast loading and response data. Single-story, steel-framed, industrial buildings, reinforced-concrete panels and a cubical concrete block in the interior of a partially open structure, underground beams, underground test chambers, reinforced-concrete roof slabs, a wall panel of corrugated-asbestos siding, and a cinder block wall panel were tested. Data from each of these tests are presented and pretest and posttest photographs are included. (C.H.)
