High Power Microwave Variable Attenuator

The design and measured results of high power variable attenuator are presented in this paper. In flap attenuator a resistive card was made from polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) cavity passed through water. Both groove guide technique and cutoff waveguide technique were used to reduce the leakage energy of attenuator. The attenuation varies from zero to ten dB. In frequency band the VSWR (Voltage Standing-Wave Ratio) is lower than 1.1 except for a few data of measured points. It is safe against leakage energy for user.
