Study on Laser Cladding of SiC Composite Layer on Aluminium Alloy Surface

Laser cladding of SiC Ni-based composite layer on aluminium alloy substrate was carried out by coaxial powder feeding or powder precoating of SiC particles in the mixture of nickel-based alloy.The experimental results indicated that laser power P=1~2.5kW;scanning velocity v=2~3mm/s;beam diameter d=3~5mm;powder precoating thickness 1mm or powder feeding rate m_p=15g/min could ensure high quality laser cladding.
