Catastrophe or Life - Contemporary Threats to Humankind and Earth (in Polish)

2007
This essay considers the contradiction between a free market and ecology in a contemporary form. Neo-liberalism as a basis of globalization entails the reduction of society to its economic dimensions and, as a result, a lack of any control over any of the political and social consequences that production will have for humankind and the Earth. A special concern may arouse neo-liberal project of reduction of political role of the state. In con-clusion the author repeats Marx's thesis that capitalism creates production that will destroy the Earth and the workers. Global capitalism and the prosperity of the Earth are impossible to maintain in tandem. Humankind must choose.
