ON THE CRUST OF A STRANGE STAR
1997
The strong electric field near the surface of a strange star is discussed, and its supporting interaction to the normal nuclear crust is calculated by using a self-consistent method. It is proved that the crust would begin not to be supported by this electric field at a quite low density at the crust base, much lower than the previously assumed neutron drip density.
