The invention relates to a shrinking device (1) for heat treatment of articles or article compilations with a hot shrinking medium flow, in particular for shrinking packaging materials to products or product combinations. The invention further relates to a method for providing a shrink agent for a shrinkage device (1). It is contemplated that the shrink device (1) comprises at least a first shrinkage agent generator (16) in the form of a gas burner unit (17) and at least a second shrinkage agent generator (18) in the form of an electric heating unit (19).
