High power optical fiber data transmission using CDH-LOC AlGaAs laser diodes

Experimental results on digital and analog modulation experiments with high power CDH-LOC laser diodes are reported. High-speed data transmission at average power levels exceeding 20 mW (50% duty cycle) of coupled light in graded index fiber was achieved. Enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (approaching 30 dB) for AM systems is demonstrated.
