TORY II-C CONTROLS SYSTEM--PART 5 OF THE TORY II-C PROGRAM
1962
Requirements for the Tory II-C control system are discussed. The airflow and nuclear power control systems are described. The air-supply control consists of two relatively independent systems for controlling flow rate and temperature. Four shim-rod actuators control the shim rods for gross reactivity control. Two vernier-rod actuators are used for fast reset and calibration functions. The five basic modes of nuclear control, manual, logpower, core- temperature, fast reset, and scram, are discussed. Analyses and tests of the control systems are described. (M.C.G.)
