Fruiting of pumpkin Tetsukabuto rises application of doses of 2,4-D in the dry season in Pombal- PB

2012
The vegetables are fruits of plants grown in all regions of Brazil, particularly the interspecific hybrid squash (Cucurbita maximum x Cucurbita moschata), known as Pumpkin type "Tetsukabuto." The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of hybrid squash Tetsukabuto relation to fruiting through the application of different doses of 2,4- D in the dry season in Pombal-PB. The experimental design was a randomized block with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of five doses of 2,4-D (0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 mg L-1). Characteristics were evaluated: fruit transverse diameter (cm), fruit cavity diameter (cm), flesh thickness (cm), number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit (g fruit-1) and fruit yield (t ha-1). The plot consisted of a row of 12 m in length with an area of 36 m2. The increase in the number of fruits per plant and fruit weight with increasing levels of 2,4-D reflected in increase in crop yield of 123.8% at a dose of 212.8 mg L-1 2,4-D.
