A New Model Predictive Control Strategy for Quasi-Z-Source Inverters

2019
This paper presents a new model predictive control (MPC) strategy for the quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI). The proposed strategy selects the shoot-through (ST) state by comparing the measured value of the inductor current with the fixed modified reference value without checking the other possible states. Then the optimal vector and its duration are calculated by MPC and deadbeat control, respectively. Finally, the required voltage vector is synthesized by space vector modulation (SVM). The cost function of the proposed method does not contain the inductor current term. Simulations results have been performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, which is also compared with several conventional MPC strategies.
