AcomparativeanalysisofbeetlesofthefamilyScara- baeidae �(sensu stricto) �from�"RanchoCanaletas",�PasodelMacho,�in� centralVeracruzState,�Mexico,�ispresented.�Datawereobtainedfrom� januarytodecemberin�2008�inanevergreentropicalforest�(SP)�anda� cattlegrazingplot�(PT),�atanaltitudeof�500�mabovesealevel.�Copro- necrophagousbeetleswerecapturedwithtrapsbaitedwithhumanfe- cesorsquid,�andbyhandincowdung,�obtaining�560�individualsfrom� 3�families,�11�generaand�18 �species.�ThespeciesCanthidium centrale� (Boucomont), Canthon euryscelis�(Bates), Deltochilum pseudoparile� (Paulian), Deltochilum scabriusculum�(Bates), Eurysternus angustulus (Harold) andSulcophanaeuschryseicollis� (Harold) � areexclusiveto� SP,�andCoprophanaeus pluto (Harold) y Omorgus rubricans (Robin- son) �areexclusivetoPT.�Speciesrichness,�diversityandabundanceis�
