Laboratory Testing of Mechanical Rock Bolts
1992
An analytical solution to a boundary value problem of a clamped cylindrical panel with anti-symmetric angle-ply laminations subjected to transverse loads is presented. Sanders' kinematic relations that incorporate first order shear deformation theory are considered to represent the deformation characteristic of the cylindrical panel. The deformation characteristic is defined by five highly coupled linear second-order partial deferential equations with constant coefficients. These equations together with prescribed boundary conditions are solved using a recently developed generalized Navier's approach. Numerical results are compared with those using NISA, a general purpose commercially available finite element code.
