Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are mesenchymal tumors with original histologic features which located primarily in the gastrointestinal tract and abdomen. Most common place for GIST is stomach (50%) and then the small intestine (25%) but GIST can be anywhere in the gastrointestinal system. Most of the patients shall be operated with other diagnoses or symptoms of obstruction.
