The Application and Performance Analysis of Distributed STBC in UWB

The space-time block codes can achieve the full transmit diversity specified by the number of the transmit antennas,while allowing a very simple maximum-likelihood decoding algorithm,based only on linear processing of the received signals.In this work,we design a distributed STBC-UWB system by applying the distributed STBC scheme to the UWB system,based on the simple and good characters of STBC,which can improve the system performance.Considering a special case of single relay,we derive a closed-form expression of the bit error rate(BER) based on perturbation theory.Under the S-V channel model environments,we simulate the BER performance of the distributed STBC-UWB systems using MATLAB,and then compare this model with the normal UWB systems.It is found that the performance of the distributed STBC-UWB system is evidently better than the normal system.
