Sample sequencing of vascular plants demonstrates widespread conservation and divergence of microRNAs

Small RNAs and microRNAs are important regulators of gene expression. In this study, Chavez Montes et al. examine these molecules in 34 plant species, and explore the correlations between abundance, conservation and variability of microRNA sequences across all of the species studied.
