Measurement of droplet size with a PMS optical array probe using an X-Y nozzle transporter

Abstract A method of droplet sizing using an optical-shadowing analyser and an X-Y nozzle transporter is described and the experimental work to verify the method of sampling the spray is reported. It was concluded that changes in nozzle height, temperature, transport settings and sample interval had little effect on droplet-size spectra over the range of the variables investigated.
