T-S Fuzzy Control for Blood Glucose Regulation in Type-1 Diabetes

This paper is concerned with blood glucose control problem for type-1 diabetes whose nonlinear dynamics are explained in the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The proposed T-S fuzzy control method is derived based on quadratic Lyapunov function aiming at attenuating the error as small as possiblin in the H ∞ performance sense. Conditions for the solvability of the H ∞ controller design given here are written in the form of linear matrix inequalities which are easier to be solved by convex optimization techniques. Simulation example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approaches.
