Irrigation Developments in Victoria: 1881-1890; A Resource for Tourism and Education

1988
Australian engineers frequently hide their achievements and even discourage the public from viewing their work. Important examples of our engineering heritage, such as irrigation developments in Victoria in the 1880's, can provide valuable resource material. The research of such material can make good exercises for under-graduate student projects, under the supervision of lecturers. Presenting the work of our early engineers to the public can provide a resource for tourism and for school children, and at the same time enhance the status of the engineering profession.
