Alterações ortopédicas em crianças eutróficas e obesas - Alterações ortopédicas em crianças

2020
Objective: To characterize the frequency of postural alterations of the lower limbs of children 6 to 9 years, comparing the results of children with normal weight and obese. Methods: Initially the weight and height measurements were made to determine the body mass index. The postural evaluation was carried through with digital photographs and the aid of the program Corel Draw 10. In the valgos knees, the distances had been observed intermaleolares, and calculated angle Q, if necessary, for determination of the pupils with alterations of valgismo of the knee. The evaluation of the plain feet was carried through through its impression in the pedigrafo and later, carried through the calculation of the index of Schipaux-Smirak for the determination of these alterations. Statistical analyzes were performed using Stata software, using the chi-square, Fisher's exact test, Kruskal-Wallis test, considering a significance level of p <0.05. Results: 708 children were assessed, 46.8% male and 53.2% female. Of these, 77.4% were normal weight, 17% were overweight and 5.7% obese. The average age was 7.7 ± 1.0. The mean body mass index was 17.0 ± 2.9. significant differences were identified between the groups in variables related to flat feet and the child's age. Conclusion: The infantile obesity must be fought to prevent future complications, also orthopedics. It is not known to the certainty when the formation of the arc plantar happens, but the obesity when it does not favor the degradation of this arc, delays its development.
