Saturation and oscillation of SBS reflectivity in fiber phase conjugators

1998
In the first investigation of fiber phase conjugators for input pulses with a coherence length of about 50 cm at 1064 nm wavelength, saturation of the SBS reflectivity was observed at a value of about 50 %, not considering the reflection losses on the fiber surface. The following investigation of temporal and spectral structures of the transmitted and reflected light from fiber phase conjugators indicates that saturation of SBS reflectivity is due to oscillations in the temporal structure of the SBS reflected and transmitted light.
