Modifizierte poröse gläser als träger in der gaschromatographie

1968
Abstract Modified porous glasses as supports in gas chromatography Two porous glasses of different pore structure were modified with organic groups and tested as supports in gas chromatography. The retention times obtained with the organic derivatives of the porous glasses were less than those obtained with the untreated glasses. Large decreases in retention time were shown by the octoxy-, butoxy- and benzoyl-derivatives of the porous glasses. As regards their gas chromatographic properties, these modified porous glasses are not inferior to dimethylformamide-loaded porous glasses. The dependence of the separation coefficients in gas–liquid chromatography on the polarity, the layer thickness of the mobile phase as well as on the surface area of the porous glasses was also investigated. Porous glasses with very small pores are not suitable as supports in gas chromatography.
