Width of the 6.20 MeV, J/sup n/ = 1$sup -$, level of $sup 18$O

The width of the 6.20 MeV, J/sup pi / = 1/sup -/ state of /sup 18/O was measur ed using a resonance fluorescence self-absorption technique. For a ground state branching ratio, GAMMA /sub o// GAMMA = 0.88, one finds GAMMA /sub o/ = 18 0 plus or minus 30 MeV. The energy of this state was determined to be 6202.7 plus or minus 0.8 keV. (auth)
