A Novel Self-restrained Decoupling Technique for Two Antennas

2020
In this paper, a novel self-restrained (SR) decoupling technique (DT) is presented to increase the isolation between two antennas. The “self-restrained” feature means that the decoupling structure is only attached to the individual antenna itself without demanding any connection to other being coupled ones. The design parameters of the resultant decoupling structure can be precisely derived to achieve high isolations. A two-element monopole array is employed as a benchmark. Results show that good matching and high isolation are achieved simultaneously.
