To develop new products by modeling

The need to develop new products frequently originates from new customer demands. These demands must first be translated to a set of new end use properties, which in turn must be translated to a set of new polymer properties. Knowing the polymer properties required, the time consuming and difficult task begins in the search for the appropriate polymers. In this paper it will be shown how modeling techniques can be used, in conjunction with personal computers and the Internet, to aid in polymer selection, design, and development.
