Numerical solution of the two-dimensional heat-conduction equation with strongly varying coefficients

Abstract AN ITERATIVE algorithm is presented for the numerical solution of a two-dimensional equation of heat-conduction type in the case where the transfer coefficients are strongly varying spatial functions. The results of test calculations, enabling the efficiency of the proposed algorithm to be judged are presented.
