Gas Billing System based on Automatic Meter Reading on Diaphragm Gas Meter with Email Notification

All this time the recording of gas usage of Hotel, Restaurant, and Cafe (HOREKA) customers from PT. Citra Nusantara Energi still uses manual recording method. This manual recording method has disadvantages that is still dependent on the officer, causing error recording, and data fraud. Therefore, an automatic gas recording device is required. The goal of this research is to create a web-based gas billing system accessible to employees and customers where the gas usage data is obtained from Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) installed on the customer's gas pipeline. This tool can read the volume, pressure, and temperature values through the sensors on the gas pipe automatically. The values obtained will be sent to the database server periodically via GPRS connection with HTTP protocol. Then in database server, the data will be processed into the amount of bill charged to the customer through email notification with SMTP protocol. The result of testing is known that AMR can survive by doing activities such reading, writing, and sending data for 3 days 3 hours 45 minutes with the battery voltage decreased by 0.93 Volt. Data submission performance by AMR to the database server reaches a success percentage of 97% −99% for each day. Online web-based billing system succeeded in making bill with the output of PDF file and send emails to different domains.
