Coking process for production of needle coke

2013
The invention discloses a coking process for the production of needle coke. The coking process comprises the following steps: (1) preheating raw oil to 350 to 520 DEG C by a thermal cracking heating furnace and then placing the preheated raw oil into a thermal cracking reactor, wherein the preheated raw oil is remained in the thermal cracking heat furnace for 0.1 to 15h, and the pressure of the thermal cracking reactor is 0.5 to 3.0 MPa; (2) discharging a gaseous product generated in the thermal cracking reaction in the step (1) from the top of a tower, heating a liquid product in a delay coking heating furnace to a reaction temperature and then deeply polymerizing and cracking the liquid product in a coking tower to prepare the needle coke which is deposited at the bottom of the tower, and finally discharging the reaction oil and gas from the top of the tower and fractionating the reaction oil and gas to obtain gasoline, diesel, light wax oil and heavy wax oil fraction. The needle coke prepared by the method has the advantages of high length-width ratio, low coefficient of thermal expansion and the like, and is suitable for the production of various graphite electrodes.
