Uso do telefone celular ao dirigir entre universitários

ABSTRACT This study investigates the extent and variations in mobile phone using and text messaging while driving among young university students, including if using a mobile phone altered their driving behavior. Data was collected through written questionnaires of 203 licensed drivers aged 18 to 20 years. It was found that almost 70% used a mobile phone while driving and about 30% of all had written text messages. Phone use while driving is prevalent and can result in adverse consequences, including accidents. Investment to investigate, monitor and minimize damagesis required to reduce consequences.
