Underwater target recognition based on fractal feature vector

The fractal feature of underwater target echo and recognition method based on fractal algorithm are discussed and the fractal feature recognition by means of factual echo data gathered from submarine is studied. By analyzing echo time domain waveform, and applying random fractal theory and method of echo fractal dimension based on fractal Brown motion are presented, and the fractal feature vector (FFV) of echo is extracted. Furthermore, the computing method based on back propagation network is proposed. The results of simulation show that the method of underwater echo target feature vector extraction and the sorting technique satisfy the technical requirements. The method presented is applicable to target detection.
