Generation of 3-psec pulses in a laser with concentrated neodymium phosphate glass

1982
It was found experimentally that pulses of 3 psec duration could be generated by a laser in which the active medium was concentrated neodymium phosphate glass. Passive locking of axial modes was produced by a rapidly relaxing dye. The repetition frequency of the output pulses was 1 Hz.
